Description

The NIAID TB Portals Program is a multi-national collaboration for tuberculosis (TB) data sharing and analysis to advance TB research.

TB Portals is a web-based, open-access repository of multi-domain TB data and tools for its analysis. It offers linked socioeconomic/geographic, clinical, laboratory, radiological, and genomic data from over 28,000 international TB patient cases.Researchers can explore and analyze these data through any of the tools. TB Portals data are also available for download to support your own research.

As a global consortium of clinicians, scientists, and IT professionals, we built the TB Portals, a web-based, open-access repository of multi-domain TB data and tools for its analysis. Here, you can find linked socioeconomic/geographic, clinical, laboratory, radiological, and genomic data from over 22800 international TB patient cases. Collaboration with clinical and research partners is a key part of our program. Forty sites from sixteen countries in Eastern Europe, Asia, and sub-Saharan Africa are sharing data through the TB Portals. We also engage with academic and private partners on research and software development projects, focusing on TB genomics, radiomics, and data science. You can explore and analyze these data through any of the tools developped, focusing on only one domain or across all of them. TB Portals data are also available for download to support your own research.

Program objectives

  • Make TB data available to stimulate new research and explore new avenues for medical care.
  • Bring added value to new and existing data by linking disparate datasets and data types to link phenotypic, genotypic, clinical, radiographic, and other data.
  • Foster an international collaborative network dedicated to collection, distribution, and analysis of patient data to be used in TB research and treatment.

Main Areas of Focus

  • Support scientific research through data sharing and collaboration with scientists and programs studying various clinical, genomic, and radiological aspects of TB.
  • Partner with institutions around the world to collect multi-domain data from TB patient cases.
  • Share multi-domain data, so each TB Portals case includes linked clinical, demographic, bacterial genomic, and radiological information.
